The Future of Drones is Being Created at ATDC

Flying Computers to Automate & Optimize Services

CUMMING, Ga. — Drones iVue Inc (iVue), a leader in drone technology and services, today announced it has been accepted into the Advanced Technology Development Center’s (ATDC) Accelerate startup portfolio.

A program of Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, ATDC is the state of Georgia’s technology startup incubator. It helps entrepreneurs learn, launch, scale, and succeed in creating viable, disruptive technology companies.

Founded by Jacob Andrews in 2017, iVue’s hardware and software technology provides a seamless experience for drone users and service providers to perform many tasks beyond aerial imaging, including weather monitoring, cargo delivery, and wireless networking.

“I am excited for iVue to join ATDC and its extensive network of business, investment, educational, and technical professionals to help build our future. iVue will introduce drones into the daily lives of consumers and businesses in the same way they adopted phones, computers, and cars,” Andrews said. “ATDC is crucial in connecting us to high schools, colleges, and STEM programs to introduce our first drone product, Develop Air, the only open source, modular drone specifically designed for hands-on teaching, research, and development of drone technology.

“Together, we will build a future workforce of drone engineers, developers, and technicians to help us make drones helpful and easy to operate for everyone else.”

Companies accepted into ATDC Accelerate join a rigorous, metrics-driven, and milestones-based program designed for startups with transformative technologies or life sciences products that are ready to scale. ATDC Signature companies have tailored access to coaches, capital, and customers, as well as Georgia Tech resources, including intellectual property, and talent.

iVue’s commitment to building the future of drone technology starts with STEM education and relationships with high schools such as the Alliance Academy for Innovation in Cumming, Georgia.

“Thanks to Develop Air, my students and I have learned how to operate drones autonomously, learn about the components that make a drone work, and open our minds up to the possibilities for drones and their jobs beyond taking photos and videos,” said Capt. Gregory Salloum, the Alliance Academy of Innovation’s aviation and drone instructor. Salloum is now one of many educators beginning to incorporate Develop Air into their classrooms to build a workforce of drone technicians and

developers, not just operators.

While iVue is focused on building the future of drone technology through investments in STEM education initiatives and technology, it is also helping companies like SolMicroGrid realize the value of the technology today.

President and Co-Founder of SolMicroGrid, Joyce Bone expressed how iVue has been a key partner to build out solar energy systems at their customer’s quick-service food locations by saying, “The drone technology and services iVue brings to the table helps both us and our customers visualize our solar energy systems and what they would look like onsite in a 3D, 1-to-1 scale model, prior to any permits being requested or onsite renovations being started.”

Working with a growing network of freelance content creators, drone operators, and customers such as SolMicroGrid, iVue is currently developing a software platform to scale its drone and media service offerings for its commercial clients as well as make its drone hardware, starting with Develop Air, easier to operate.
